Award Winning Film Screening
Presented by GESMN and the Second Chance Coalition
Join GESMN and the Second Chance Coalition for a screening of the award-winning documentary “MILWAUKEE 53206.”
“MILWAUKEE 53206” chronicles the lives of those living in the ZIP code with the highest percentage of black men incarcerated in America, up to 62%.
Through the stories of three current inmates, we witness the high toll mass incarceration takes on individuals and families that make up the community of ZIP code 53206.
The film not only examines Milwaukee’s ZIP code 53206, but also illuminates the story of people from across the United States who live with the daily effects of mass incarceration.
Admission is FREE for this event. Following the screening, GESMN and the Second Chance Coalition will host a discussion on the issue of mass incarceration and barriers to reentry.
