EVENT DETAILS
Description:
Faith and spirituality are complex and deeply personal. Say the wrong thing and it can be destructive, therefore many people default to avoiding or minimalizing. But is this best? Spirituality guides many people’s everyday choices, and for some people, it can make a difference in the way the live their lives entirely; the faith based IFI program was found to reduce recidivism by an additional 26-40%.
For some of the people we serve, spirituality is an important part of their transition. What does healthy spirituality look like? How do we properly support spirituality as an important part of the pathway for some of the people that we serve? How do you have conversations about faith or spirituality without crossing professional boundaries? In this training, we will be discussing different faiths and spiritualities and ways we can support the people we serve.
Presenters: Bro. Charles - Islam Brotherhood; Pastor Brian Herron – Pastor of Zion Baptist Church; OOO – American Indian Center; OOO – Buddhist Meditation Center
