Women in the Criminal Justice System
Description:
Join us for a training focused on successful transitions for justice involved women.
The first half of the training will focus on Amicus' Sisters Helping Sisters program, which serves women nearing release at MCF-Shakopee. Sisters Helping Sisters staff will share about the success of the program and the factors that have contributed to it's success.
For the second half, join the Task Force on Justice Involved Women and Girls as we explore women and girls' unique pathways to incarceration, systems response and shortcomings and innovative approaches.

Amicus Sisters Helping Sisters is an innovative transitional program, which Female inmates at MCF-Shakopee who are nearing release have the opportunity to participate in.
Karmen McQuitty and Vicki Hunter-Task Force on Justice Involved Women and Girls
The Task Force on Justice Involved Women and Girls advises the Department of Corrections Commissioner of Corrections on issues impacting incarcerated women. We promote and advocate for gender and culturally responsive approaches for justice involved women and girls.
