Field and Office Safety Training
(The major focus of this training is safety protection and verbal de-escalation. It IS NOT tactical safety training).
Most attacks are conceived and executed by individuals who are generally acting alone and without ties to criminal or deviant groups. Almost anyone, male or female, young or old, intelligent or stupid, can successfully attack and assault you. One out of every five probation officers is likely to be assaulted during his/her career. Three out of four will face intimidation, physical harm, or other threats.
Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
•· Understand the unpredictability of violence.
•· Assess worker’s attitudes towards danger and violence.
•· Increase survival sensitivity in threatening situations.
•· Increase awareness and recognize signs of potential danger
•· Know behavior management and control steps
•· Know how to plan field/home visits, their purpose and to take necessary precautions
